September has arrived and I am frankly shocked! I have whirled my way through summer feeling never quite on top of things but achieving what needed doing none the less. I have celebrated life, love and grieved a death. I have grieved and embraced the shifting shape of my family life. There has been art making, film making, photography. There has been reading and writing. I have noticed a significant shift in the way I think about myself and my art and I am embracing change and pursuing the new.

Summer has felt full and at times I have felt dysregulated but I have learned to accept that the fuller my feelings the better able I am to find flow, to recognise the essence of my humanity and express it. The boxes we squeeze ourselves into can render us unable to stretch our souls. It is in the stretching, in the grief, pain and joy, that the noticing occurs and those moments galvanise writing, art making, space taking.

And now we swing towards Autumn and I am ready for a softening, for more balance for more honesty and ecstasy!
